Growing Watermelon in Greenhouse :

Watermelon is a delicious fruit and also used as vegetable. Generally, it grows in warm climates. Seeds are used to produce watermelon. You can also produce them without seeds. For this system, two types of watermelon will be genetically crossed. Many types of greenhouses are used to produce watermelon. Different types of watermelon need different types of greenhouse structures.

Prepare a good greenhouse that will provide enough temperature. Avoid longer and danger frost seasons. The greenhouse structure should be sterilized and cleaned before seedling trays. And plant when the ground will warm. It needs sandy soil. It provides the best warm temperature. Black plastic mulch can be used if there is cold environment in the greenhouse Use black plastic film. It requires more space than the other vegetables. Maintain at least six feet distance between two plants when you will transplant it especially in greenhouse. You can be seed closer but should be keep require space when you will transplant in the greenhouse.

Use good size of seed for optimum sowing depth. Seed in proper depth. Deep seeding absorbs water from inside. Because the size of seed and depth watermelon seed require more water during the initial stages of germination than the smaller seed verities do.

Watermelon needs minimum water because the roots go deep and absorbs water from inside. Avoid unhygienic sowing system and over - watering.

There is greater possibility of diseases and water - born pathogens if you use over - watered and unhygienic sowing conditions.

Use artificial lighting system that can supply more temperature to the plants. In cold season and this system is essential in greenhouse. Use high ventilation method. Plants need carbon dioxide. Closed greenhouse that will able to provide high temperature may unable to create proper carbon dioxide. So use best technology that can create and provide proper temperature and carbon dioxide to the plants.

Use the best compost like urea and sulfur. They also create and supply heat to the plants.

Do not allow any kind of pet animals. They may cause to create disease.
