Media Test in Greenhouse :
Media testing provides an analysis of the material. This analysis provides good rooting atmosphere. It gives information about rate of salt, iron, sulfur, aluminum sulfate, phosphorous, potassium, calcium, pH and so many things. Once you get this kind of information you may able to use adequate compost and fertilization. You can also analyze plants, seeds, soil, water, fungicides etc. By using assessment method you will come to know about plus and minus points of your greenhouse. There are many labs are doing work on the greenhouse assessment. Modern methods are used in the labs.
Collect sample of soil or water or anything whatever you like to test and submit to the labs. When you submit sample in the labs do not forget to fill up a sample information form. You should have to include check number, amount, date, place of payable center etc. It should be correct. If you provide wrong information in the sample information form you will get wrong result. Therefore it should be accurate.
It will be better if you modify greenhouse media before establishing plants. Media testing result depends on types of plants, greenhouse places, environment, technology that is used in greenhouse, and so on. There are many tests that take longer time. However, some media already have information about some plants. So you will get information easily and you can modify your greenhouse soon. Some plants are sensitive so it will be better to test small area or few plants before treating large area.
When the electrical conductivity is higher leaching medium with water reduce the salt level. A corrective procedure includes a normal irrigation followed directly by another irrigation. Then, let the medium to dry. And if you realize that it needs leaching method again repeat the double irrigation. Then check the electrical conductivity level again and find out whether the leaching procedure has been successful in lowering the EC to an acceptable range. A low EC often shows poor fertilization. Therefore using you can develop fertilization system by using media testing.
You can adjust available nutrient levels by using media testing in greenhouse. You can test phosphorus, super phosphate and develop nutrient in greenhouse.
Generally, there are many drawbacks as well as strong points in every greenhouse that we can’t realize easily. Using media tests you can avoid drawbacks and increase productivity in greenhouse.
